Gestalt Bodywork

Gestalt bodywork involves working with your body and connecting with it; feeling your energy flow and also sensing where it is blocked. Taking time to reflect on what is stuck in your body or what feels difficult often creates movement. It is a way of listening to your body’s signals alongside your thoughts, gaining new insights and discovering new things about yourself.

Through a varierety of physical exercises, you explore your body, feelings and moods . It is a way of getting to know your capabilities and needs. Bodywork contributes to your inner and physical grounding and being present with your body and mind.

In Gestalt Bodywork, I use a holistic approach, incorporating different movements such as Lowen's Bioenergetics, Gendlin's 'deep feeling', and Sensory awareness development CharlotteSelver, among others. These are complemented by exercises on finding an anchor in yourself, 'Hara' by Graf K.Durckhiem, and the concept of Chakras, introduced to the West by Judith. I use The Alignment Technique (TAT) to find balance and stay balanced in our overstimulating world.

Doing Gestalt Bodywork is energetic and creative; it involves laughting, crying, dancing, frolicking, and meditation. These activities help you come to yourself.

When you are a therapist, you’ll learn, or refresh, the many different ways to work with the body.
